How to Send As Distribution / Contact list in Outlook 2011 for Mac

I was so used to using Outlook on a PC to send as multiple distribution list/contacts.

As I wear many hats in my roles as IT man and general web guy I have many Distribution lists that I send from so as to originate email from that group but have that group delivered to my exchange inbox and in some cases other people on the server also.

Now out of the box outlook on a PC allows you to view All Distribution groups / lists / contacts you can “send as” with a From drop down list at the top of composing a new email.

Outlook 2011 on a Mac does not. And this is VERY dissapointing as it was one of the features I was most interested in getting in the latest release to Mac.

Terminal Window Secrets

A few useful shortcuts anyone can use in a Linux Terminal Window.

CTRL+U = deletes the entire current row
CTRL+L = clears the entire screen

CTRL+D = exits the terminal or logs out
CTRL+R + command = search history for commands

CTRL+insert(shift-ctrl-C) = copy
SHIFt+insert(shift-ctrl-V) = paste
SHIFT+delete = cut

esc-. or alt-. = using the previos argument

Networking

The bottom right of your screen should look like this on a wired network:

The middle icon is the network icon. On a wireless network right click to see available networks. Click on connect by the network you want to connect to and provide the password when required.
Click once on the network icon to see what network you are connected to, click on the link to open “Network and sharing center”.
If you want to share files/folders over the network or use files/folders shared by others, set up your shares or make sure you can access the network shares now.

I don’t use the public folders or the Homegroup options, so I just use the good old right click and choose Properties then click on the Sharing tab and go through the options from there………..

Activate Windows

Click on Start, right click on Computer and choose Properties. At the bottom of the page click on Activate Windows now
TIME FOR BACKUP: CLEAN INSTALL. Clean up, defrag and backup. A Windows based backup will do at this point. If you have a bootable recovery CD from Acronis or Macrium or any other backup software, use that to create a backup.
